This week 23 Indian startups raised funding, of which 20 received a total sum of about $566 million. Among them, Unacademy raised the highest funding of about $150 million followed by Eruditus, which raised $113 million.
Meanwhile, funding for 3 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.
Below is the summary of deals closed this week
Unacademy: Online education company, Unacademy has raised $150 million in a fresh round led by Softbank at a staggering valuation of $1.45 billion. Existing backers Facebook, Sequoia Capital, Nexus Venture Partners and Blume Ventures also participated in the round.
Gaana: Music and podcast streaming platform, Gaana has raised $50 million in a fresh round led by existing investor Tencent along with participation from Times Internet.
WinZO Games : Vernacular real money gaming platform, WinZO Games has secured $18 million in a Series B funding round led by Makers Fund and New York-based Courtside Ventures.
Dunzo: Hyperlocal logistics startup Dunzo has raised $28 million in a new funding round led by Google and Lightstone. The fresh funding has come after a $45 million Series D round in October 2019 and it is the first tranche of the company’s ongoing Series E round.
Livspace: Online home decor startup, Livspace has closed its Series D round at $90 million led by Switzerland based investment firm Kharis Capital and Venturi Partners, an investment platform targeting growth investments in the consumer space in India and Southeast Asia.
Entropik: Artificial intelligence-based startup to track consumers’ emotional response, Entropik has raised $8 million in its Series A funding round led by Alpha Wave Incubation with participation from existing backers.
Mfine: On-demand healthcare services startup Mfine has secured $5.3 million as a part of its ongoing Series B funding round led by Caretech Pte Inc, an entity owned by Mfine’s co-founders and others.
Zomato: Foodtech unicorn, Zomato has raised about $62 million from Singapore’s state-owned investment arm Temasek Holdings’ MacRitchie Investments.
HomeLane: Online home interior design platform, HomeLane has secured $8 million in a bridge funding round led by Stride Ventures. Existing investors, Accel Partners, Sequoia Capital, Evolvence India, and JSW Ventures also joined the round, which is a mix of debt and equity.
Eruditus: Online education platform Eruditus that offers executive courses, has raised $113 million in a Series D round co-led by Naspers and Leeds Illuminate Global Fund. Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI), Sequoia Capital and Ved Capital Evergreen Private Equity also participated in the round.
Apna.co: Professional network for India’s grey and blue-collar workers, Apna.co has secured $8 million in a Series A funding round led by existing backers — Lightspeed India and Sequoia Capital India. Greenoaks Capital and Rocketship.vc have also infused funds in the round.
Quintype: Saas-based digital publishing startup, Quintype has secured $3.25 million in a Series A funding round from IIFL AMC, a part of IIFL Wealth Management.
Bikayi: Hyderabad-based and Y-combinator backed startup, Bikayi has raised $2 million in a seed funding round from a clutch of international investors including Mantis Ventures.
Aibono: Artificial intelligence-powered fresh food aggregation platform, Aibono has raised $2 million in fresh capital from Rebright Partners, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Venture Capital and Lesing Artha.
SenseHawk: Solar software startup SenseHawk, has raised $5.1 million in fresh capital as part of its extended Series A funding round.
Railofy: Railofy, a startup that provides travel protection to railway passengers against waitlist and reservation against cancellation, has raised $0.9 million in its seed funding round from Chiratae Ventures.
Koye: Mumbai-based Koye has raised $4.11 million in debt capital from non-banking financial company BlackSoil Capital Pvt. Ltd.
boAt: Consumer electronics products brand, boAt has raised $3.43 million in debt funding from InnoVen Capital.
Trulymadly: Dating platform Trulymadly has raised $1.10 million in a pre-Series A funding round from AngelList, Inflection Point (IP) Ventures and The Chennai Angels.
Ultraviolette Automotive: Electric vehicle startup Ultraviolette Automotive has raised $4 million from TVS Motor Company, as a part of its ongoing Series B funding.
