The Karnataka High Court has upheld its earlier decision to suspend bike taxi services in the state, dismissing appeals from aggregators like Ola, Uber, and Rapido.

The court's refusal to grant interim relief means that the suspension order remains in effect until at least June 24, 2025.

This decision comes after a ruling on April 2 that stopped bike taxi services because there are no official rules for them under the Motor Vehicles Act. The state government has indicated no immediate plans to introduce such regulations.

This comes after the high court extended the suspension of bike taxi services for four more weeks starting May 14, changing the earlier order. Now, the suspension will last until Sunday, June 15.

As a result, bike taxi services are set to cease statewide from Monday, June 16, 2025. This move has significant implications for both commuters and the industry, particularly affecting drivers who rely on these platforms for income.

The court has scheduled further hearings for June 24 to address the matter in detail.
