The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday granted permission for bike taxi services operated by Ola, Uber, and Rapido to continue functioning until June 15.

This decision comes four weeks after the court had previously ordered that bike taxi services must be halted until further notice.

According to the PTI news agency, a single-judge bench led by Justice B.M. Shyamaprasad heard an interim plea filed by Uber, Rapido, and Ola. The companies sought permission to continue their services, and the court agreed to their request.

The earlier suspension was due to the absence of clear regulations governing bike taxi operations in Karnataka. In its latest ruling, the court also directed the state government to formulate proper guidelines within three months.

Meanwhile, other states like Delhi and Maharashtra have moved ahead by allowing electric bike taxis under regulated frameworks. Karnataka is expected to follow suit once its new rules are finalized.
