Online gaming platform Gameskraft has announced it will not challenge the recently enacted Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, choosing instead to align its business strategy with the new law.

According to the company, it has already stopped all real-money ‘Gameplay’ and ‘Add Cash’ services across its Rummy platforms, effective August 21. The firm added that it has cleared all regulatory dues and taken measures to safeguard the interests of employees, partners, vendors, and service providers.

The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, which received Presidential assent on August 22, bans all forms of real-money online games while encouraging e-sports and casual social gaming.

On Monday, Dream11’s CEO Harsh Jain said that the firm will not legally challenge the government's ban on online real-money gaming.

As major players in the real-money gaming space, Dream11 and Gameskraft’s decision not to pursue legal action effectively ends speculation of a Supreme Court challenge by leading online gaming startups.

Dream11, which reportedly registered Rs 9,600 crore in revenue in FY24, has forayed into the wealth-tech space with a new app, Dream Money. Gameskraft is also actively exploring new opportunities and future-ready solutions. The company reported Rs 3,500 crore in revenue in FY24, with Rs 947 crore profit after tax.

My11Circle, WinZO, Zupee, Probo, Paytm First Games, and Nazara Technologies-backed PokerBaazi have also suspended their real-money offerings in response to the new regulation. Soon after the ban, WinZO announced its entry into microdrama with a new vertical called WinZo TV.
