This week, 27 Indian startups raised funding, of which 23 received a total of about $419 million. upGrad and CleverTap were the top fundraisers which scooped up $210 million and $105 million respectively. Last week, 29 homegrown startups raised funding worth about $174 million.
Meanwhile, the funding of four of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.
Growth/late-stage deals
This week, five growth stage startups raised their new round which includes edtech startup upGrad’s $210 million Series F round, SaaS startup CleverTap’s $105 million round and SaaS startup SquadStack’s $17.5 million round. Since UpGrad’s funding was already mentioned in our H1 report, we’ll adjust it in the yearly report.

Early-stage deals
In the early-stage, 22 startups have raised funds which also include four undisclosed rounds. Fintech startup Jodo was on top of the list with a $15 million Series A round. The list also includes foodtech startup BigSpoon and NFT startup Lysto.

Oorja, Orxa Energies, LearnQ, and Let’s Try did not disclose their financial details.
City and segment-wise fundings
This week, Bengaluru-based startups were on top in terms of the number of startup deals and the amount raised by them. According to Fintrackr’s data, 10 Bengaluru-based startups have raised funds this week amounting to $52 million or 12.43% of the total funding. During the week, Mumbai-based startups raised $317.5 million across 7 deals.

SaaS startups were the top segment in terms of the number of deals as startups in this space raised $124.1 million across 5 deals. EV, foodtech, fintech, e-commerce, edtech and D2C brands were next on the list.
Mergers and acquisitions this week
Apart from the fundraisings, the week also saw two acquisitions. The list includes the acquisitions of holiday homes operator Bornholmske Feriehuse by Oyo (via DanCenter) and Rapidx by Orange Health.
