Funding in Indian startups this week (05 Apr-10 Apr)

This week 36 Indian startups raised funding, of which 29 received a total sum of about $2659 million or $2.65 billion. Among them, Swiggy raised the highest funding of about $800 million followed by ShareChat, which raised around $502 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 7 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week

Swiggy: Foodtech major Swiggy has now scored $800 million from Falcon Edge, Amansa Capital, Think Investments, Carmignac and Goldman Sachs.

PharmEasy: Online pharmacy company PharmEasy, owned by API Holdings, has raised $350 million in its Series E round led by Prosus Ventures and TPG Growth.

ShareChat: Social media platform ShareChat has also joined the list of unicorns with a $502 million Series E round led by Tiger Global with participation from Snap and existing investors including Twitter and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

Gupshup: Enterprise messaging solutions provider Gupshup joins the unicorn club by raising $100 million from Tiger Global at a valuation of $1.4 billion.

Groww: Millennials-focused investment app Groww has raised $83 million in a Series D funding round led by Tiger Global. Existing backers Sequoia India, Ribbit Capital, YC Continuity and Propel Venture Partners also participated in the round.

Spinny: Full-stack used car retailing platform Spinny has raised $65 million in its Series C funding round from new and existing investors. The round was led by silicon valley based venture capital firm General Catalyst – early backers of Airbnb, Stripe, Snapchat, Vroom, Cazoo.

CRED: Credit card payment app CRED has raised $215 million in its Series D round led by Falcon Edge Capital and existing investor Coatue Management.

Meesho: Social commerce platform Meesho has entered the unicorn club with a $300 million round led by SoftBank Vision Fund. Existing backers: Porsus Ventures, Facebook, Shunwei Capital, Venture Highway and Knollwood Investment also participated in the fresh financing round.

WOW Skin: Private equity firm ChrysCapital has invested $50 million in WOW Skin Science India, a provider of new-age personal care brand in India.

PlayShifu: Augmented reality technology startup PlayShifu has raised $17 million in Series B round from Inventus Capital India, Inflexor Ventures and existing investors Chiratae Ventures and Bharat Innovation Fund.

OfBusiness: SME financing firm OfBusinessw has concluded its Series D2 funding round of $110 million led by Falcon Edge Capital.

WinZO Games: Real money gaming platform WinZO Games has raised Rs 69 crore or $9.5 million in debt round from Courtside Ventures, Makers Fund and The Stuart Partners.

OneCard: Mobile-first credit card OneCard, owned by FPL Technologies, has raised $10 million in its extended Series B round.

PumPumPum, Used-car leasing startup PumPumPum has raised $0.75 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures.

ShopSe: Point of Sale (PoS) platform ShopSe has raised $5.5 million in funding led by Chiratae Ventures and BeeNext.

CareerLabs: Profile-building platform for college students and working professionals, CareerLabs has secured $2.2 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Global Founders Capital.

SuperBottoms: Maker of eco-friendly baby products, SuperBottoms has received $2 million in Series A funding from Saama Capital and DSG Consumer Partners.

Fantasy Akhada: Gurugram-based fantasy sports platform Fantasy Akhada has raised $0.7 million in equity funding through Prime Securities Limited.

Pitstop: Bengaluru-based tech-enabled multi-brand car service provider Pitstop has raised $3.5 million in a pre-Series B round led by Ventureast.

iBus: Morgan Stanley’s India Infrastructure Fund has acquired a stake in iBus Network and Infrastructure for $20 million.

Safexpay: B2B fintech startup Safexpay has raised $6 million in funding from T Choithrams BVI and Ardor Advisors at a valuation of $100 million.

Oye Rickshaw: Electric vehicle energy solutions firm Oye Rickshaw has raised $3.28 million from Alteria Capital to expand smart lithium-ion batteries swapping stations across India.

WiT-ACE: Women skilling and employment platform WiT-ACE has raised $1 million in seed round led by founders of CitiusTech.

Puresh Daily: Ranchi-based Puresh Daily which provides dairy and fresh farm produce has raised $0.16 million in its seed round from Dhianu Das of Alfa Ventures and Agility Venture Partners.

Superpro.ai: Bengaluru-based video communication workflows platform Superpro.ai has raised $0.3 million as part of its Seed round led by IvyCap Ventures Angel Fund.

Karnival: SaaS startup Karnival has raised $0.25 million from We Founder Circle.

Legitquest: Legal research platform Legitquest has raised $0.7 million from Info Edge and venture capital firm Waterbridge Ventures in a Pre-Series A funding round.

Do Your Thng: Branded content marketplace Do Your Thng has raised fresh funding of $0.15 million led by Mumbai Angels with participation from Faad Network and Angel Bay.

TABP Snacks: TABP Snacks & Beverages has raised $0.8 million in its pre-Series A funding round from Chand family office Yukti, Valuable Structuring & Advisory Services LLP and angel investors.

Hunter GamesFindeed, AntWak, Kudos, Rage Coffee, 7InkBrews and Goseeko did not disclose their financial details.
