Funding in Indian startups this week (23 Sep-28 Sep)

This week 23 Indian startups raised funding, of which 20 received a total sum of about $138 million. Among them, Spinny raised the highest funding of $50 million followed by OfBusiness, which raised $34 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 3 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week:

Spinny: Hybrid used car retailer Spinny has closed about $50 million in a Series B round led by an American investor. New investors from India, including Nandan Nilekani’s Fundamentum, has also invested in the round.

Darwinbox: HRtech startup Darwinbox has raked in $15 million in a Series B round led by Sequoia Capital. Existing investors Lightspeed Ventures, 3one4 Capital and Endiya Partners also participated in the round.

Rivigo: Surface logistics startup Rivigo has raised about $4.9 million from KB Global.

OfBusiness: Tech-enabled lending space seems not to have impacted by the crisis in NBFCs and traditional lending space. After InCred and Lendingkart, another lender OfBusiness has raised $34 million in a Series D round led by Norwest Venture Partners.

Emotix: Learning robots maker Emotix has raised another $2.2 million led by WNS group CEO and NASSCOM’s  Chairman – Keshav R Murugesh.

WhistleDrive: Hyderabad-based employee transportation company WhistleDrive has raised $10 million in a Series B round from Colosseum Group.

1Balance: Natural supplements company 1Balance has raised $2 million in a seed funding round led by Accel Partners. Larry Braitman and other angel investors also participated.

Terraview: SaaS-based global image processing startup Terraview has raked in $0.8 million in a Series A round led by Flipkart’s co-founder Binny Bansal and CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy, Udaan co-founder Sujeet Kumar, and Tanglin Venture Partners.

Onco: Virtual cancer care startup Onco has raised $7 million in a Series A funding round led by Accel Partners, Chiratae Ventures, and Dream Incubators.

Finception: Delhi-based startup Finception has raised $0.56 million in a funding round from Rainmatter.

Aquaconnect: Chennai-based Aquaconnect has raised $1.1 million in a seed funding round led by Omnivore and HATCH.

Log9 Spill Containment: Nanotechnology startup Log9 Spill Containment has raised $0.56 million in a pre-Series A round of funding from angel investors including Renjit Shinto and Omkar Ghaisas.

AdvaRisk: B2B fraud detection and investigation startup AdvaRisk has raised around $0.7 million in its first round of institutional funding from Sprout Venture Partners, SEA Fund and angel investors. Sharad Bhatia and Vardarajan Srinivasan also participated in their capacities.

Orbo.AI: AI-powered imaging and visual enhancement startup Orbo.AI has raised $1.6 million in a pre-series A round of funding led by YourNest Ventures and Venture Catalysts. Vinod Dham, John Ason and Refex Capital also participated.

Pharmarack: SaaS-based healthcare tech platform Pharmarack has raised $3 million in a Series A round of funding from IvyCap Ventures.

Blu Smart: Delhi-based mobility startup Blu Smart has raised $3 million in angel round from Deepika Padukon’s family Ka Enterprises, JITO Angel Netowork and others.

LectureNotes: Online platform for teachers, LectureNotes has raised $0.35 million from Singapore-based HNIs.

Ketofy: Gurugram-based Ketofy has raised $0.25 million from Alok Mittal, Rohit Chanana and Tajinderpal Singh.

DIPL: fintech startup Digital India Payments Ltd (DIPL), has raised $0.8 million from the United States-based investment group IC1101.

Agatsa: Healthtech startup Agatsa has raised $1 million from the Indian Angel Network (IAN) and the Technology Development Board (TDB).

Undisclosed deals this week

SpeakIn, emids, and Financepeer, did not disclose their financial details on funding.
