Funding in Indian startups this week (08 July-13 July)

This week 20 Indian startups received funding, of which 16 received a total sum of about $340 million. Among them, Byju’s raised the highest funding of $150 million followed by Rivigo which raised $65 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 4 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week:

Rivigo: Surface logistics company Rivigo has raised $65 million Series E round led by existing investors Warburg Pincus and SAIF Partners. With this fresh round, the company had raised about $100 million this year.

Moglix: B2B industrial goods marketplace Moglix has raised $60 million in what appears to be Series D funding round led by Tiger Global and Sequoia Capital. Hong Kong-based Composite Capital has also come on board as a new investor in the Noida-based startup.

Indus OS: World’s first regional operating system – Indus OS has struck a deal with Samsung where the global smartphone major has invested $5.75 million through its venture capital arm – Samsung Venture Investment Corporation (SVIC).

House of Masaba: Flipkart former group CEO and Chairman Binny Bansal has led $1 million investment round in House of Masaba, a luxury fashion brand founded by movie actress Neena Gupta’s daughter and fashion designer Masaba Gupta.

Emotix: India’s first companion robot maker Emotix has raised $2.6 million in a seed round from Chiratae Ventures, YourNest, and Technology Venture Fund.

Quess Corp: Bengaluru-based tech-service provider Quess Corp limited has raised an investment of $7.2 million from e-commerce marketplace Amazon in lieu of 0.51% stake. Last year, Quess Corp acquired Qdigi from HCL Infosystems for $4.7 million.

O4S: Gurugram-based supply chain startup O4S has scooped up $2.1 million in Pre-Series A funding round led by Venture Highway. Overall raised investment raised by the SaaS startup has now reached to $2.5 million including $400,000 of 2017.

Azani Sports: Sports apparel startup Azani Sports has raised a total of $1 million from Redwood Trust (formerly Sequoia Capital India Trust) and Fireside Ventures.

HealthAssure: Early-stage VC fund Blume Ventures has announced an investment of $2.5 million in healthcare aggregator startup HealthAssure which has raised total funding of $4 million in its Series A round till now.

Byju’s: Edtech unicorn Byju’s has raised $150 million in its ongoing Series G round led by Qatar Investment Authority that also saw participation from Owl Ventures.

Headfone: Fosun RZ Capital has invested $0.75 million in Bengaluru-based social-audio Android app Headfone in a seed round.

Board Infinity: Mumbai-based Ed-tech startup Board Infinity has scooped up $0.31 million by a clutch of angel investors and other prominent individual investors from renowned organizations like Bain & Co, DBS, Tata group, Expedia, Microsoft, Flipkart, Xiaomi, GE, among others.

Udaan: Hiveloop Technology, which owns and operates B2B e-commerce platform Udaan, has received around $5 million from Singapore-based holding entity – Trustroot.

Node Consulting and Wigzo Technologies: Tech focussed VC firm Cornerstone invests $1 mn each in two early-stage  B2B startups Intelligence Node Consulting and Wigzo Technologies. 

NiYO: Bengaluru-based neo-banking startup NiYO Solutions has raised $35 million in a Series B funding round led by Horizons Ventures and Tencent. Existing investor JS Capital also participated.

Undisclosed deals this week

Stanza Living, Spacetech startup Pixxel, Gnani.ai, and Silvan Innovation Labs did not disclose their financial details on funding.
