Funding in Indian startups this week (08 April-13 April)

This week 22 Indian startups received funding, of which 19 received a total sum of about $104 million. Among them, CleverTap raised the highest funding of about $26 million followed by Medlife which raised about $17 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 3 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week:

Tripoto: Online community for travellers Tripoto has bagged $3.5 million in Series B round from Orchid India, Hornbill Orchid India Fund, Chiratae Ventures, 3one4 Capital and Lasmer NV.

Azah: Women wellness startup Azah that makes premium organic sanitary napkin, has raised seed fund of $0.2 million from four angel investors including HNIs from consumer internet space.

Setu: Indiastack members Sahil Kini and Nikhil Kumar have floated a fintech platform called Setu and raised seed fund of $3.5 million led by Lightspeed with participation of Bharat Innovation Fund.

CleverTap: SaaS-based mobile analytics and marketing platform CleverTap has picked up $26 million Series B round led by Sequoia Capital whereas Tiger Global and Accel Partners also participated.

Unacademy: Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy has invested $0.3 million in edtech startup Unacademy.

GlowRoad: C2C reseller platform GlowRoad that is solely focused on women buyers and sellers has raised $10 million in Series B funding round led by China-based CDH Investments.

Cashfree: Y Combinator-backed payment gateway company Cashfree has raised $5.5 million in Series A round led by South Korean venture capital firm Smilegate Investments.

SigTuple:  Diagnostics startup SigTuple has bagged Series C round worth $16 million led by Trusted Insight. The Bengaluru-based startup also saw the participation of existing investors Accel Partners, Chiratae Ventures, Pi Ventures and Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal.

UrbanClap: After raising series D round, home service marketplace Urbanclap has raised $0.22 million from Flipkart’s Group CEO – Kalyan Krishnamurthy.

Kuliza: Software development startup Kuliza has raised $3 million in a venture round led by Silicon Valley-based Emergent Ventures. The Bengaluru-based startup will use the fresh capital in R&D for its two-year-old flagship product – Lend.in.

Medlife: Bengaluru-based epharmacy startup Medlife has raised $17 million in an equity funding round from founder Tushar Kumar’s family trust, Prasid Uno Family Trust.

Zupee: Smile Group has invested $1 million in a seed funding round in real money gaming startup Zupee.

Colive: Co-living space provider of fully-managed rental homes Colive has raised $9.2 million in Series A funding from Salarpuria Sattva Group.

ShoeKonnect: Info Edge India, the company that owns and operates job portal Naukri.com and real estate website 99acres.com, has invested $0.85 million in ShoeKonnect.

Gramophone: Online marketplace for farmers Gramophone has raised $2 million via compulsorily convertible preference shares to Info Edge.

Eduvanz: Mumbai-based fintech lending startup Eduvanz Financing has raised $2 million from Unitus Ventures and the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation.

Thekabadiwala: Bhopal-based startup Thekabadiwala.com has raised $0.4 million in equity funding from early-stage investors, HNIs and senior industry professionals.

BalleBaazi: Online cricket fantasy gaming platform BalleBaazi has secured $1 million in funding from Baazi Games, its parent company.

Planet Superheroes: Omni-channel seller of superheroes and comic characters’ merchandise Planet Superheroes has raised $2 million in Series A round of funding led by existing investor DSG Consumer Partners.

Undisclosed deals this week

Online event booking platform BookEventZ.com, lending startup Credy and healthcare services provider Digiarway Healthcare did not disclose their financial details on funding.
