Funding in Indian startups this week (11 Mar-16 Mar)

This week 22 Indian startups received funding, of which 15 received a total sum of about $244 million. Among them, Acko raised the highest funding of about $65 million followed by BlackBuck, which raised about $43 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 7 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week:

Acko: Online insurance platform Acko has raised about $65 million in a fresh round from Flipkart founder Binny Bansal and former Softbank managing partner Kabir Mishra’s led  RPS Investment Fund.

Faasos: Foodtech startup Faasos has raised about $15.8 million as a part of the larger round.

AgroStar: Bertelsmann India has led $27 million Series C round in Pune-based AgroStar. Existing investors Accel, Chirate Ventures and Aavishkar Bharat Fund also participated in the round.

Whatfix: Digital guidance and engagement platform Whatfix has raised $13.2 million in Series B round led by Eight Road Ventures.

TartanSense: Omnivore Partners, Blume Ventures and BEENEXT and a slew of angel investors have together invested $2 million seed fund in TartanSense, an agriculture robotics startup.

Byju’s: After raising more $540 million in December 2018, ed-tech major Byju’s has raised $11.43 million from the existing investors – General Atlantic and Tencent.

Mswipe: Point-of-sale company Mswipe has raised $31.5 million in Series E funding round from US-based hedge fund Falcon Edge, Facebook Co-founder Eduardo Saverin’s B Capital Asia, Epiq Capital and DSG Consumer Partners.

BlackBuck: Logistics startup BlackBuck has raised around a little over $43 million in a fresh round led by new investor Goldman Sachs.

Nua: Female wellness brand Nua has raised $4 million in its Series A funding led by venture capital firm Lightbox and participated by existing investor Kae Capital.

The Wedding Brigade: Content-to-commerce portal The Wedding Brigade has raised $1 million in a pre-Series A extension round of funding led by AET fund and Blume Ventures.

SparesHub: Automobile parts marketplace SparesHub has raised $0.5 million from the Indian Angel Network (IAN).

Tosshead: Bengaluru-based events equipment and packages booking marketplace Tosshead has raised $0.05 million(Rs 36 lakh) seed funding from a slew of high net-worth non-resident Indians.

Vivriti Capital: Online platform for institutional debt in India Vivriti Capital has raised an additional $15.8 million from existing investor Creation Investments.

Aibono: Artificial intelligence-enabled fresh food aggregation platform Aibono has raised $2.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Menterra Venture Advisors.

Innoviti: Digital payments solutions company Innoviti has raised $11.5 million in debt funding round from Trifecta Capital and others.

Undisclosed deals this week

Bengaluru-based food and beverage &Me, Co-living startup StayAbode, b2b industrial goods marketplace Moglix, virtual wireless firm EasyFi, worker screening platform Hello Verify, IoT platform EroNkan and traveltech Startup Guiddoo did not disclose their financial details on funding.
