Funding in Indian startups this week (21-26 May)

This week 15 startups received funding, of which 14 received a total sum of about $82 million. Among them, NewsDog raised the highest investment of $50 million, followed by Raw Pressery which raised about $10 million.

Meanwhile, funding for only one of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Arzooo: Reverse auction-based e-commerce platform for high value branded goods, Arzooo has raised about $0.22 million in a seed funding round from Omphalos Ventures India.

LetsMDHealthcare focused fintech startup LetsMD has raised fresh funding of about $0.16 million from Ravi Garikipati, CTO & Head of Engineering of Flipkart and WaterBridge Ventures including a consortium of other HNIs.

BetterPlace: Human resource-cum-fintech platform for blue-collar workforce BetterPlace has raised $3 million in a Series-A funding round from 3one4 Capital, and existing investors Venture Highway and Unitus Ventures.

Mobisy: SaaS-based distribution technology solutions provider for consumer companies, Mobisy has raised $3.5 million led by SIDBI Venture Capital Limited (SVCL).

Milkbasket: Micro delivery startup in daily essentials segment Milkbasket has raised $7 million in Series A round of funding led by Kalaari Capital. Beenext Ventures along with existing investors Blume Ventures and Unilever Ventures also participated in the round

NewsDog: Chinese Internet conglomerate Tencent, California-based VC firm DHVC, Legend Capital and Dotc United Group have poured in $50 million in news and entertainment aggregator app NewsDog.

Raw Pressery: Cold-pressed juice manufacturer Raw Pressery has raised $10 million in another round of funding from existing investors Sequoia Capital, Saama Capital and DSG Consumer Partners.

ImpactGuru: Crowdfunding platform ImpactGuru has raised $2 million in series A funding round co-led by Apollo Hospitals Group and Venture Catalysts.

Cure.Fit: Indian actor Hrithik Roshan has put in about $0.87 million into healthcare startup Curefit.

KareXpert: Reliance Industries’ investment arm has invested $1.5 million in Gurugram-based digital healthcare technology platform KareXpert.

Edyoo: Bengaluru-based e-commerce platform targeted at products for school kids, has secured $1 million in an angel round from RS Shanbag, chairman and managing director of the diversified Valuepoint Group.

Smartivity: New Delhi based toys design startup Smartivity has raised $2 million from Ashish Kacholia with participation from existing investors such as S Chand Group, AdvantEdge Founders, and Ant Space.

Comparometer: Chandigarh-based price comparison website Comparometer has raised about $0.15 million from Brand Capital–the investment arm of ‎Bennett Coleman and Co. Ltd.

Cashkumar: Bengaluru-based peer to peer lending platform Cashkumar, has closed a pre-series A round of $0.75 million.

Undisclosed deals this week:

Chatbot startup DheeYantra did not disclose its funding details.
