This week in Indian Startups funding news (06 Nov-11 Nov)

Startup Angel tax

This week 19 startups received funding, out of which 12 were disclosed, who in total made a sum of $57.30 million. Among them, Qubole raised the highest investment of $25 million, followed by Kissht which raised $10 million.

Meanwhile, seven out of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Happily Unmarried: Delhi-based Happily Unmarried, a consumer products firm is raising funds from Wipro Consumer Care, the personal care arm of Wipro Enterprises. Info Edge (India) Ltd, which is an existing investor in Happily Unmarried, also invested $0.76 million (Rs 5 crore) in the company.

Qubole: Big data startup Qubole has secured $25 million strategic round of funding led by Singtel Innov8 and Harmony Partners with participation from existing investors.

NoPaperForms: Delhi-based edtech startup NoPaperForms has raised $0.8 million (about Rs 5.66 crore) from Info Edge in an all-cash deal.

Schoolguru: Online learning startup Schoolguru has raised $2 million (about Rs 13 crores) from Staffing services firm TeamLease Services.

Fisdom: Personal finance startup Fisdom, which allows users to make financial and investment decisions for long-term financial planning, has raised the second round of institutional funding of $3.8 million led by Quona Capital.

FarmLink: Mumbai-based agri-tech startup FarmLink has raised $3 million led by Switzerland-headquartered Pioneering Ventures and agrochemical firm Syngenta.

DocTalk: Mumbai-based DocTalk, which runs a mobile application to help doctors and patients stay in touch with each other, has raised about $5 million from investors.

MedsOnWay: Pune-based online pharmacy MedsOnWay has raised $0.6 million (about Rs 4 crores) from RPG Ventures, the venture capitalist wing of RPG Group.

Hevo Data: It is a cloud-based data-integration platform, has secured $1 million in a seed funding round led by IDG Ventures India.

Kissht: Mumbai-based fintech startup Kissht has raised $10-million (about Rs 67 crore) led by Fosun International with participation from existing backers, early-stage venture capital firms, Ventureast and Endiya Partners.

Indian School of Hospitality: It has raised $3.8 million in its first round of external funding from a group of HNIs in India and overseas.

Open Appliances: A company which manufactures smart locks for enterprises, has secured $0.55 million from Axilor Ventures and Kumar Vembu, co-founder of Chennai-based enterprise-tech firm ZOHO.

Undisclosed deal this week:

Bengaluru-based travel tech startup Itilite, Delhi-based Leverage Edu, big data company Crayon Data, Edtech Talentedge, Co-working start-up The Office Pass, Outstation Cab aggregator AHA Taxis, AR startup Shifu did not disclose their funding amount.
