Health-tech platform Viraa Care has raised $108,000 in a pre-seed funding round from a group of European angel investors.
The Chandigarh-based startup had previously raised $100,000 in the same round in January 2024.
According to a press release, the proceeds will be utilized for international expansion and its live courses on infant and pediatric nutrition, offering parents expert guidance that emphasizes fresh, nutrient-dense foods.
Co-founded in 2023 by Sonal Babbar-Bhardwaj and Mayank Bhardwaj, Viraa Care provides online courses for parents on topics including breastfeeding and bottle feeding, the introduction of real food to infants, nutrition management, and addressing picky eating challenges. The platform aims to eliminate the reliance on processed baby products laden with preservatives and artificial additives.
Viraa Care offers two main programs—one-on-one consultations and live courses. The one-on-one program spans three months, during which parents receive personalized guidance through individual sessions with experts on breastfeeding, introducing solids, and baby nutrition. The live courses also cover these topics, featuring recorded lessons followed by live interactive sessions where parents can engage directly with experts. Each course typically includes five modules.
Viraa Care claims to have supported over 500 families in the US and India. The platform also reports conducting over 500 sessions and experiencing 2x month-on-month growth in its customer base. It aims to enhance its platform to provide customized nutrition advice and introduce new workshops to educate parents on essential topics such as breastfeeding, infant nutrition, and overall child development.
