Google has now brought in Unified Payments Interface (UPI) mode of payment in its Play Store app. Customers from India can use their UPI ID to purchase from the Play Store. Previously, Netbanking, Credit/ Debit card, and Google Play Store cards were available as a mode of payment.
The move will promote small ticket size transaction and as an alternative payment method, it will widen the ways through which users can now purchase apps on the store. (Source)
