upGrad, an integrated skilling and lifelong learning platform, has announced the appointment of Deepesh Dhakad as its Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO), effective October 2025.

In his new role, Deepesh will lead product, design, and technology functions across upGrad’s learner and enterprise verticals, focusing on scalability, innovation, and global user experience.

With nearly two decades of experience, Deepesh has previously held senior roles at Amazon, Flipkart, Unacademy, and Games24x7, where he led product and technology teams managing millions of users globally. His expertise spans product growth, AI-driven systems, and large-scale platform design.

Founded in 2015, upGrad offers online and hybrid programs across B2C and enterprise segments and partners with leading Indian and global universities to deliver degree, diploma, and certification programs.

upGrad has raised more than $320 million to date. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Temasek is the largest external stakeholder with 20.5% while upGrad’s co-founder and chairperson Ronnie Screwvala and family hold 45% of the company.

As per TheKredible, upGrad reported an EBITDA profit of Rs 15 crore in FY25 against an EBITDA loss of Rs 285 crore in FY24.  It recorded gross revenue of Rs 1,943 crore during the last fiscal year.
