Ride-hailing firm Uber has launched its loyalty program, 'Uber One,' in India, offering both monthly and annual plans to users.
According to Uber, the subscription service is priced at Rs 149 per month and Rs 1,499 for the annual plan. However, certain users are being offered discounts of up to 50% on the monthly plan.
As part of the loyalty program, Uber is offering up to 10% credits on ride-hailing services for four-wheelers, three-wheelers, and two-wheelers, as well as its parcel delivery services. These credits, akin to cashback, can be redeemed on future rides.
The loyalty program also provides priority support for Uber One members. Additionally, the company is offering a complimentary three-month subscription to Zomato's loyalty program, Gold.
Globally, Uber reported having 25 million Uber One members as of September this year. The company claims that Uber One members spend three times more than non-members, with higher retention rates. Membership has grown by 70% year-on-year.
In India, Uber faces direct competition from emerging platforms such as WestBridge Capital-backed Rapido and Google-backed Namma Yatri.
