Akashalabdhi, a space tech startup developing expandable space habitats and dual use defense technologies, has raised $1.2 million in a pre seed funding round from Uday Chatterjee, Romesh Sobti, Suraj Nalin, LVX, 1Crowd, and Riceberg Ventures.
The proceeds will be used to develop ANTARIKSHAB, an expandable space habitat designed for orbital logistics, microgravity experiments, space habitation, and defense applications. The funds will also accelerate ongoing projects, including inflatable solar arrays, analogue studies, and the orbital launch of its MVP, the company said in a press release.
Akashalabdhi is building dual use aerospace and defense technologies that serve both national security and space exploration, from defense grade systems that enhance security on Earth to expandable orbital habitats and space infrastructure for humanity’s future in orbit.
“Our vision is clear. We want to put India at the forefront of orbital infrastructure and space habitation by innovating dual use technologies. The successful close of our pre seed funding round is a significant milestone that brings us closer to this goal. With the support of our investors, we are one step closer to making ANTARIKSHAB a global reality,” said Siddharth Jena, Founder of Akashalabdhi.
Incubated at FSID, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), and TIDES, IIT Roorkee, and supported by KickSky Accelerator, the company leverages research and mentorship to transform visionary concepts into scalable solutions.
