PhysicsWallah (PW) has appointed Satish Sharma as its new Chief Marketing Officer as it scales its presence across online, offline, and hybrid education channels.
Sharma will lead the company’s marketing and brand strategy at a time when PW is expanding across test prep, skilling, higher education, and overseas education segments.
With over two decades of experience, Sharma previously co-founded Unyscape, a marketing and analytics firm serving global clients, where he held dual roles as COO and CMO.
His appointment comes as PW deepens its efforts to build a strong national brand with measurable outcomes. The company, founded in 2020, started as a YouTube channel and has grown into a full-fledged edtech platform offering classes in multiple Indian languages. PW has also launched tech-enabled offline and hybrid centres nationwide.
Backed by investors like Lightspeed, WestBridge, Hornbill Capital, and GSV Ventures, PW is valued at $2.8 billion and reported Rs 1,940.4 crore revenue in FY24.
Media reports suggest that PW filed draft papers via confidential route in March to raise Rs 4,600 crore through an initial public offering (IPO). If successful, it will become the first edtech unicorn to be listed on the stock exchange.
