Pet care startup BhaoBhao has raised $200,000 in a funding round from angel investors.
The fresh funds will be utilized to expand to more geographies, BhaoBhao said in a press release.
Co-founded by Aditi Sanganeria and Anshika Maheshwari, BhaoBhao provides expert grooming with trained professionals using sanitized equipment in the pet owner's home, aiming to provide a trustworthy and convenient service.
According to market research, India’s pet care sector is valued at $3.5 billion, and is projected to witness substantial growth in the years ahead.
The Mumbai-based startup offers in-home pet grooming services for both dogs and cats, employs certified and experienced pet groomers, including dedicated cat groomers, and provides the grooming service directly at the pet owner's home, making it a convenient option. The startup focuses on leaving the home clean and mess-free after the grooming session, and ensures that pets remain happy and calm throughout the entire grooming process.
The startup says that it is in talks to raise a larger funding round of $4–5 million by the year-end to drive expansion and take its premium pet grooming services to more customers.
Currently, BhaoBhao offers at-home grooming services for dogs and cats, priced between Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,000 per visit, and has served over 3,000 clients across Mumbai, with a 95% repeat rate.
