AI unicorn Krutrim has laid off more than 100 employees in its second round of layoffs as part of a strategic realignment to build leaner teams and manage resources better, according to an ET report.
The layoffs have significantly impacted the company’s linguistics team, which had only recently been onboarded. According to the report, Krutrim’s linguistics team previously employed about 600 people.
This development follows the company’s first round of layoffs in June, during which over a dozen roles were cut.
Krutrim has raised approximately $75 million and joined the unicorn club in January 2024. Its investors include Z47 (formerly Matrix), the Sarin Family, and others. The company was recently in the news regarding a potential new fundraise. However, Krutrim officially denied any such discussions.
The latest move comes just over a month after Krutrim launched its agentic AI assistant, Kruti, a Gen 2 multimodal assistant that can analyze text, voice, images, and files to generate responses and detailed reports.
Entrackr has reached out to Krutrim for comments, and updates will follow once the company responds.
