AI enterprise data infrastructure MeshDefend has raised $2.3 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Kalaari Capital, with participation from Kettleborough VC and a group of industry executives. This is the startup's first external capital raise.

The proceeds will be used to build its AI-native operating system for enterprise data infrastructure. The firm will invest in product development, go-to-market plans, and scaling its platform for enterprise use. It will expand its presence in the US and Europe and form partnerships with infrastructure vendors. The platform is vendor-agnostic.

Founded in 2025 by former Dell executives Tejas Pandit and Ravi Chitloor, MeshDefend provides an AI-driven platform for managing enterprise data infrastructure across backup, storage, multi-cloud, and hybrid environments. Its operating system, Agent Mesh™, supports large enterprises, managed service providers, and global system integrators.

MeshDefend’s platform aims to automate Day-2 operations for data protection and storage. It helps IT teams manage infrastructure and resolve issues across multi-vendor environments.

MeshDefend is working with design partners in IT services, global system integrators, and infrastructure vendors to build use cases for large-scale data environments.
