Kitchenware brand Cumin Co has raised its first institutional funding of $1.5 million (about Rs 13.16 crore) in a round led by Fireside Ventures along with participation from Huddle Ventures.

The proceeds will be deployed towards expanding enamel-based coating manufacturing in India and strengthening the supply chain, Cumin Co said in a press release.

Launched in February 2025 by Niharika Joshi and Udit Lekhi, Cumin Co combines design with functionality and avoiding the harmful chemicals often present in traditional non-stick or metal cookware. Prices range from Rs 1,999 to Rs 7,000, targeting households with an annual income of Rs 30–35 lakh and above.

The Gurugram-based startup focuses on 100% toxin-free enamel cast iron cookware, including pots and pans, that blend traditional durability with modern safety standards.

The startup primarily sells its products through its own website and Amazon, utilizing a direct-to-consumer model to control pricing and customer experience. It incorporates sustainability in its supply chain through plastic-free packaging and responsibly sourced materials.

The brand claims that it has reached Rs 1 crore in monthly recurring revenue (MRR) and is growing at 20% month-on-month (MoM) with strong repeat purchase rates. It plans to expand into quick commerce platforms, such as Blinkit, Zepto and Instamart, in select categories.

It competes with the other notable startups in this space such as Indus Valley and Palette Brand’s Ember. Indus Valley secured Rs 23.1 crore in a pre-Series A round led by DSG Ventures, while Palette Brands raised nearly Rs 17 crore in a pre-Series A round led by Rockstud Capital.
