ICICI Mutual Fund crosses 5% stake in FirstCry’s parent

Asset manager ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund has crossed the 5% shareholding threshold in Brainbees Solutions, following a fresh acquisition of shares through its various schemes which the MF disclosed in regulatory filing.

Asset manager ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund has crossed the 5% shareholding threshold in Brainbees Solutions, following a fresh acquisition of shares through its various schemes which the MF disclosed in regulatory filing.

The mutual fund bought 2,00,210 equity shares (worth approx Rs 4.6 crore) of Brainbees on February 16, 2026. Post the transaction, the fund’s aggregate holding in the company rose to 2,62,47,897 shares, translating into a 5.028% stake.

Before the acquisition, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund held 2,60,47,687 shares, or 4.990% of the company’s paid-up capital. The latest purchase represents around 0.038% of Brainbees’ equity.

In its disclosure, the fund clarified that the investment has been made purely from an investment perspective and is not aimed at acquiring any controlling interest in the company.

On the financial front, FirstCry's revenue from operations grew to Rs 2,424 crore in Q3 FY26 from Rs 2,172 crore in Q3 FY25. Meanwhile, The company’s losses increased by 153% to Rs 38 crore in Q3 FY26.

FirstCry’s share price is currently trading at Rs 220.25 per share (as of 11:19 AM), with a total market capitalization of Rs 14,096 crore (approximately $1.2 billion).
