Healthcare platform Gut Clinic has raised $1 million (approximately Rs 9 crore) in a seed funding round backed by a strategic consortium of over 15 investors. Key participants include Amitoj Singh, Aman Rajpal, Ankur Kathuria of Alpha Wave Global, Juhi Bhatnagar, and Deepak Garg.
The proceeds will be used to establish new centres, strengthen clinical systems, and expand diagnostic capabilities across India’s $197 billion preventive healthcare market, the company said in a press release.
Founded in 2024 by Akshat Kumar, Gut Clinic operates specialised outpatient centres focused on gastroenterology, liver, and metabolic health. Its clinics offer consultations, endoscopies, colonoscopies, advanced gastrointestinal diagnostics, and clinical nutrition services, catering to patients seeking specialist care outside traditional hospital settings.
According to market research, around 70 million Indians suffer from lifestyle-led digestive and metabolic disorders.
Gut Clinic follows an outpatient and day-care model, with clinics embedded within hospitals to address gastrointestinal, liver, and metabolic conditions. The startup focuses on patient-centric care, leveraging clinical expertise, technology-enabled infrastructure, digital marketing, local activation, and partnerships to improve digestive health awareness and outcomes.
Currently operating in the Delhi NCR region, Gut Clinic plans to expand to Chandigarh, Punjab, and other parts of Northern India. It aims to establish over 20 centres in the near to medium term, with the broader goal of building India’s largest gastro-metabolic healthcare platform focused on early diagnosis, protocol-driven treatment, and long-term disease management.
