The central government has called proposals from state transport departments for the deployment of 5,000 electric buses under the Fame-II scheme with an estimated budgetary support of Rs 10,000 crores.
State department will have to think upon the overall expenses and the least quotation rate will be selected as per the rules. Selected cities will be offered subsidy starting from 40% of the vehicle’s cost. (Source)
