Everhope Oncology, a joint venture between Narayana Health, W Health Ventures, and 2070 Health, has raised $10 million in seed funding to establish medical and surgical cancer care facilities in Delhi and Mumbai, with plans to expand to 10 cities over the next three years.

The newly established facilities are designed to prioritize patient comfort and convenience, minimizing wait times while creating a supportive treatment environment, the company said in a media release. Everhope will also extend its care offerings to include mental health counseling, nutritional guidance, and pain management services.

According to Everhope Oncology, it will focus on providing comprehensive cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, and palliative care.

"Many people imagine cancer treatment as patients who are weak and thin, surrounded by tubes, moving between crowded hospital rooms. Because of this, many avoid cancer screening and turn to unproven treatments. We want to change these common misconceptions about cancer care," said Viren Shetty, Vice Chairman of Narayana Health.

According to the National Cancer Registry Program, one in nine Indians is expected to develop cancer in their lifetime. The most commonly diagnosed cancers include breast, lung, cervical, colorectal, and oral cancers.

Over the past few months, several startups focused on cancer treatment have raised funds. Recently, MOC Cancer Care & Research Centre secured $18 million in funding, led by Elevation Capital. The list also includes ErlySign, OnCare, and OneCell Diagnostics.
