Battery technology startup Dreamfly Innovations has raised Rs 12 crore in its seed round led by Avaana Capital, with participation from Sunicon Ventures and other existing investors.

Earlier in 2023, the firm raised Rs 4.9 crore in an angel round from Rebalance Angel Community and others.

The proceeds will be used to set up a manufacturing unit, expand its team, and ramp up research and development of its battery solutions.

Founded in 2022 by Kajal Shah and Saurabh Markandeya, Dreamfly provides battery solutions for drones, aviation, and aerospace applications, particularly in agriculture, terrain mapping, surveillance, and logistics.

Its battery solutions feature a thermal case design that reduces operating temperatures and lowers fire risks.

The Bengaluru-based startup claims that its batteries can operate at temperatures ranging from -30°C to 50°C, making them suitable for diverse conditions.

Some of its major customers include Tata Advanced Systems, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), and drone tech company General Aeronautics.
