Dream11 has begun its transition from fantasy gaming to a global sports entertainment platform, introducing a second screen experience built around creator led watch alongs, fan reactions, banter streams and free to play fantasy formats.

The company said the new product aims to deepen engagement and complement live sports broadcasts for its user base of more than 250 million.

The pivot comes a few months after Dream11 shut all paid fantasy sports contests following the government ban on real money games for stakes. The company has since shifted its focus to free to play formats and creator driven sports engagement.

The shift comes as parent company Dream Sports expands into new consumer categories. The firm recently introduced Dream Money, a personal finance app that enables users to invest in digital gold, open fixed deposits and track expenses and assets by linking accounts.

At the same time, FanCode is shutting its sports merchandise business after struggling with thin margins and counterfeit products, and will now focus on content and streaming.

The changes point to a broader realignment at Dream Sports as it moves away from its earlier reliance on paid fantasy gaming.
