Under the government 100-day action plan, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has proposed to formulate a national retail policy to support the growth of domestic trade.
As per the govt official, the policy would help 65 million small traders and improve the export performance of India. In February this year, DPIIT became the nodal agency to regulate the domestic trade. DPIIT is already in process to formulate guidelines on e-commerce. (Source)
