Agritech platform DeHaat has acquired AgriCentral from Olam Agri through an all-cash deal.
The acquisition enhances DeHaat’s ability to provide comprehensive agricultural solutions across India’s villages. The integration of AgriCentral’s capabilities will allow DeHaat to offer precision advisory, mechanization, insurance, and cattle advisory, further improving the livelihoods of farmers.
AgriCentral, a digital advisory platform with more than 10 million users, offers services such as crop price data, crop planning, diagnostics, and community interaction. Launched in 2018, the platform uses advanced technologies, including satellite imagery, machine learning, and big data analytics, to support farmers.
DeHaat’s extensive network includes over 15,000 DeHaat Centres and partnerships with more than 1,000 agribusiness institutions. Founded in 2012, DeHaat offers farming solutions, including advisory, quality input delivery, and market linkages, operating in over 12 states.
Wit h this acquisition, DeHaat aims to solidify its position as India’s largest full-stack agritech platform. Its previous acquisitions include FarmGuide, Vezamart, Helicrofter, YCook,and the fruit export business of Freshtrop Fruits.
For the fiscal year ending in March 2024, DeHaat’s gross revenue spiked to Rs 2,674.8 crore from Rs 1,965 crore in FY23. During the period, its losses shrank by 34% to Rs 244.68 crore compared to Rs 371 crore in FY23.
