Bengaluru-based deep-tech startup CIMware has raised $2.3 million in pre-Series A funding from Transition VC, an energy transition-focused VC fund.
The proceeds will be used to expand its hardware production and deepen its R&D efforts.
Founded by Rajiv Ganth, who previously led CloudSimple India (acquired by Google), CIMware is building a new category in data center hardware with its flagship Composable Infrastructure Module (CIM), a smart top-of-rack switch that combines compute, storage, and networking into one unit.
CIMware claims its technology can cut power use by up to 80%, lower total cost of ownership, and reduce the space required for data center infrastructure.
The startup has begun production of its first 20 CIM units, which are scheduled for deployment in Indian data centers by the end of 2025.
CIMware is also exploring partnerships in markets including South Korea, the UK, and the US, and plans to pursue direct sales in India and the US, with white-label deals in Southeast Asia.
