Fintech startup Cashfree Payments has appointed Piyush Anchliya as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
He will be in charge of the company’s financial planning and operations and he will report to Akash Sinha, Cashfree's co-founder.
Anchliya takes over the role from Vikas Guru, who served as CFO for nearly four years. Before this role, he was the CFO at Bandhan Asset Management Company, formerly known as IDFC AMC. He has also worked at Barclays Investment Bank in New York and Lehman Brothers in London.
Recently, Cashfree raised $53 million in funding, led by Krafton and Apis. The company claims to process about $80 billion in transactions each year for more than 800,000 businesses across India.
In December 2023, the company received approval from the Reserve Bank of India to operate as a payment aggregator for both domestic and cross-border payments. The company is also licensed to issue prepaid payment instruments such as mobile wallets.
With this leadership change, the company aims to continue its focus on handling large-scale transactions and expanding its financial services platform.
