SEBI-registered bond investment platform IndiaBonds has raised Rs 32.5 crore ($3.77 million) in its maiden external funding round, backed by a curated group of marquee individual investors from the investment and technology sectors.
This marks a milestone for the Mumbai-based fintech, which has remained bootstrapped for over four years.
The proceeds will be used to scale its platform and continue its mission of making bond investing mainstream and accessible in India.
Founded in 2021 by Vishal Goenka and Aditi Mittal, IndiaBonds enables retail and institutional investors to access, evaluate, and invest in a range of fixed-income instruments, including corporate bonds, government securities, and digital fixed deposits.
According to Goenka, the round comprises “friends and associates” who bring not just capital but strategic insight, and the company will explore institutional capital next year.
IndiaBonds has introduced several innovations in the space, including a Bond Yield Calculator and a public Bond Directory, aiming to simplify fixed-income investing for individuals.
