Bimaplan, an embedded insurance platform, has appointed Anurag Mishra as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Mishra joins from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where he led global trade and supply chain finance operations across emerging markets. He previously served as CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Nepal.
According to the company, founder Vikul Goyal will now focus on product innovation and strategic partnerships, while Mishra will lead global expansion and operations.
Bimaplan partners with financial institutions, microfinance firms, and digital platforms to offer customized, low-ticket insurance plans tailored for underserved and low-income segments.
It operates on a B2B2C model, enabling insurers to distribute policies through embedded APIs in partner platforms. This approach reduces distribution costs, improves accessibility, and helps insurers tap into new customer segments that are typically excluded from traditional insurance channels.
Bimaplan recently launched its first international program in Zambia and is expanding across the Middle East and Africa.
Earlier in June 2021, Bimaplan had raised $2.5 million in its pre-Series A round led by global VC funds Amino Capital, Goodwater Capital. Later in 2023, the firm had raised $3.5 million from Orios Venture Partners and others.
