Agritech startup Eeki has secured $7 million from Sixth Sense Ventures. The fresh funding comes after a gap of more than three years for the Kota-based startup.
Earlier in 2022, Eeki raised $6.5 million in its Series A round led by General Catalyst. A few months prior, it had also raised $2 million in a round led by Avaana Capital and others.
Eeki will use the latest capital to expand its climate-resilient farming operations across India. It will also support Eeki’s rollout of its Gen 3 aeroponic growing chambers, strengthen research and development, and grow its farming footprint.
Founded by Abhay Singh and Amit Kumar, Eeki is working to build a scalable and sustainable food production system. It operates a unique farming model that grows pesticide-free staple vegetables year-round, even on barren land, using its patented climate-controlled aeroponic chambers. In aeroponics, plant roots hang in the air and receive a nutrient-rich mist, reducing water use by up to 95% compared to traditional farming and enabling precise control over growing conditions.
This method allows Eeki to produce vegetables at costs similar to conventional agriculture while delivering higher yields and consistent quality.
The firm focuses on producing vegetables with better nutritional value while addressing environmental challenges like soil degradation and water scarcity. Eeki’s farms can be set up in non-arable regions, helping reduce the burden on fertile farmland and ensuring local, fresh produce availability.
