Bengaluru-based food delivery major Swiggy has shut down Snacc, its standalone app for 10–15 minute food delivery, less than a year after launching the service, according to an internal email sent to employees.
Snacc was launched in January 2025 as a dedicated app offering quick delivery of snacks, beverages, and ready-to-eat food items. The service operated through centrally stocked hubs and was positioned as Swiggy’s experiment in ultra-fast food delivery, separate from its main platform.
In the internal communication, reviewed by Entrackr, the company said that growth across its food delivery business continues to remain strong, while reiterating its focus on disciplined capital allocation and prioritising scalable initiatives.According to the email, Swiggy’s food delivery business recorded 20.5% year-on-year growth, driven by both order volume growth and improving average order values (AOVs).
Snacc was initially rolled out in parts of Bengaluru and later expanded to Gurugram and Noida. However, the service remained limited to a few markets and did not see a wider national expansion.
Last year, Zomato paused its 15-minute food delivery service Quick just four months after launching it. Zepto Café, the quick-service food arm of Zepto, shut down operations at nearly 200 of its 600 outlets as part of an internal restructuring to tackle subdued demand in select markets. Meanwhile, Ola also put its Ola Foods delivery service on hold after its relaunch.
Despite these pullbacks, the space is not entirely cooling off. Fast-delivery startup Swish is reportedly in talks to raise $30–35 million, which suggests that investor interest remains intact.
