Reliance and Facebook form joint venture to launch AI firm, invest Rs 855 Cr

Reliance Intelligence Limited (RIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, has formed a joint venture named Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Limited (REIL) in partnership with Facebook Overseas Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Meta Platforms Inc.

The venture will focus on developing, marketing, and delivering enterprise-grade artificial intelligence (AI) solutions across India.

As per the exchange filing, Reliance Intelligence Limited has incorporated Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Limited (REIL) on October 24,2025 with initial investment of Rs 2 crore to subscribe to 20 lakh equity shares of Rs 10 each.

As part of the joint venture agreement, Reliance Intelligence and Facebook have jointly committed an investment of Rs 855 crore in the venture. Reliance Intelligence will have a 70% stake in the Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Limited (REIL) while Facebook will command the remaining 30% stake.

“The transaction does not qualify as a related party transaction, and none of the company’s promoters, promoter group, or group companies have any interest in it,” the exchange filing stated.
