Aspora, a cross-border financial technology company formerly known as Vance, has appointed Varun Sridhar as CEO of its wealth management and lending business, marking a key addition to the fintech company’s leadership team.

The announcement was made through Aspora’s official LinkedIn post.

ridhar brings over 20 years of experience in financial services and digital banking. He previously served as CEO of Paytm Money and Paytm Services, where he led the platform from launch to profitability. He joined Paytm during its pre-IPO phase, helping build the company’s operating model ahead of its public listing. He stepped down as CEO of Paytm Services in August this year.

Before Paytm, he held leadership roles at BNP Paribas, Citibank, and Deutsche Bank, gaining deep exposure across retail banking, wealth management, and fintech operations in multiple markets.

At Aspora, Sridhar will take charge of scaling the firm’s wealth and lending offerings and strengthening its cross-border banking stack for global markets.

Founded in 2022 by Parth Garg, Aspora was part of Y Combinator’s Winter 2022 batch and recently underwent a rebranding exercise. The company currently serves users across the US, UK, UAE, Germany, Italy, and Ireland, with plans to expand into Saudi Arabia, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Canada, and Singapore.

Back in June this year, Aspora had raised $53 million in a Series B funding round co-led by Sequoia and Greylock and others. The startup has raised over $99 million in funding to date.
