Online travel aggregator EaseMyTrip has increased its stake in Eco Hotels and Resorts Limited by 7.77% through a rights issue. The board of Easy Trip Planners, the parent entity of EaseMyTrip, approved the investment in a meeting held on September 20, according to its stock exchange filing.
The company subscribed to 10 lakh equity shares at Rs 15.20 apiece, taking the total investment size to around Rs 15.2 crore. The subscription will be paid in tranches.
Eco Hotels, incorporated in 1987, operates in the hospitality sector with a focus on eco-friendly and green hotels. The Mumbai-based firm is still in its early stages of business, reporting a turnover of just Rs 13.71 lakh in FY25 as against Rs 1.39 lakh in FY24 and Rs 0.78 lakh in FY23.
At the close of Q1 FY26, the company approved an investment of Rs 175 crore in Three Falcons Notting Hill Limited for 50% stake, the acquisition of 100% stake in AB Finance Private Limited for Rs 194.4 crore, and approved an investment in Vashu Bhagnani Industries Limited.
EaseMyTrip forayed into the hospitality space after acquiring a 13% stake in Eco Hotels in December 2023.
EaseMyTrip’s operating revenue decreased by 25.5% to Rs 114 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 25.5 crore in Q1 FY25. The company’s profit after tax (PAT) fell 98.7% to Rs 44 lakh in Q1 FY26 as compared to Rs 34 crore in the same time period.
