Micro venture capital firm Volt VC has launched its inaugural fund, Volt VC Fund-1 with an aim to bridge the gap in pre-seed funding and provide essential resources to startups across India.
Volt VC Fund-1, a SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF), is targeting a corpus of Rs 45 crore. The fund will target investments in innovative consumer-centric startups at the pre-seed stage, with plans to support a new generation of entrepreneurs and creators building solid, consumer-focused businesses across various sectors, particularly in D2C, B2C and B2B2C models.
According to Volt VC, the funds will invest between Rs 50 lakhs to Rs 2 crore in approximately 20-25 startups at the pre-seed stage.
Launched by Param Patel, Volt VC will provide strategic guidance, market research assistance, product development, branding, fundraising strategies, and access to a broad network of experts across multiple domains. The firm aims to empower entrepreneurship and support the growth of innovative startups in Gujarat and across India.
As per the Ahmedabad-based company, it targets to close its first fund in the next 3-4 months. The firm plans to strengthen its presence in super early-stage investments by investing in promising startups across various sectors within the next 12 months.
