Veera, a rewards-focused internet browser, has raised $6 million in its seed- round led by Ayon Capital. The round saw participation from a clutch of investors including institutions and angels such as 6th Man Ventures, Folius Ventures, The Operating Group, iSeed Ventures.
The proceeds will be used to expand the firm’s engineering team to ramp up product development, enhance infrastructure and invest in marketing initiatives.
Founded by Arjun Ghose, Veera had launched its mobile-only internet browser, entirely developed in India, with tailored content and ad blocking services, in September 2023.
According to Ghose, the browser has since crossed 100,000 users. He also added that Veera launched an engagement-driven rewards programme to incentivise user loyalty and engagement on the platform using gamification.
Ayon Capital is a Florida-based single-family office that has invested in Vested Finance – an online platform that enables Indian investors to invest in the US stock market – in the past. The fund is also an investor in Brave, a privacy-focused internet browser built by a team that had previously built Firefox.
