GigaML raises $3.6 Mn in seed round led by Nexus

Large language models (LLMs) provider GigaML has raised $3.6 million in seed led by Nexus Venture Partners, with participation from Y Combinator and Liquid 2 Venture, 8vdx and angels such as Garry Tan.

Founded three months ago by Varun Vummadi and Esha Manideep Dinne, GigaML provides enterprises to customize and deploy large language models in a secure way. The platform allows businesses to deploy LLMs such as GPT-4 directly on their own servers.

Enterprises can take Giga ML's base model and further continue pre-training and fine-tune it to meet their specific needs. The startup also provides X1 code chat, an enterprise self-hosted alternative to GitHub Copilot.

The Bengaluru-based startup directly competes with the likes of Mosaic ML and Together AI.

Nexus portfolio includes Postman, Apollo.io, MinIO, Fingerprint, Nx, Druva, Hasura, Observe.ai, Delhivery, H2O.ai, Quizizz, Sibros, TileDB, Turtlemint, Unacademy, Zepto, and Zomato, among others.
