The Good Bug, a direct-to-consumer brand focused on gut health, has secured $3.5 million in its Series A round led by Fireside Ventures, an early-stage consumer sector-focused venture capital fund.
The fresh capital will be channelled into the development of additional gut health products, market expansion, recruitment and marketing initiatives, The Good Bug said in a press release.
Founded by Prabhu Karthikeyan and Keshav Biyani in 2022, the startup offers a range of gut health and wellness products that help individuals reverse the adverse effects of poor dietary and lifestyle habits. The brand claims to have over 100,000 customers and is looking to clock Rs 250 crore in revenues within three years.
According to The Good Bug, it has a strong R&D team and probiotic experts, and claims to have created 15 SKUs spread across four major portfolios — digestive health, women’s health, kids health and metabolic health. The startup’s offerings include daily supplements, powders and sticks that are sold on e-commerce platforms and its website.
The startup competes with the likes of The Good Stuff, Wellbeing Nutrition, HealthKart, among others across various categories.
