Traveltech startup has raised $500K in a pre seed round from investors including entrepreneur Kunal Shah, Vidit Aatrey, Kishore Ganji, Appreciate Capital, Superb Capital, 888vc, and FAAD network.

Earlier, the Bengaluru-based startup secured $100K grant from PeakXV (Sequoia) Spark program in January this year. The funding will be instrumental in fuelling Teleport’s mission to ensure hassle-free travel visas and revolutionize the way people experience cross-border travel, the company said in a press release.

Founded in 2022 by Nikita Dresswala, Teleport aims to make travel visa applications simple and fast by simplifying paperwork requirements, providing reliable information, and providing a customer-friendly platform to apply.

According to the company, it is the trusted choice for over 100 travel agents and travel companies, facilitating visa processing for their businesses. The platform provides tourist visa for more than 40 countries and targets to process 1,00,000 visas within the year 2023.

“For many Indians, the excitement of traveling abroad often gets overshadowed by tedious visa formalities. It's clear that amidst these bureaucratic challenges, there lies a significant opportunity to craft a service grounded in trust and understanding for Indian travellers. Nikita is a sharp operator, and just the person to lead this change,” said Abhishek Agarwal, Partner at Appreciate Capital.

In January, Peak XV announced the second cohort of Spark fellowship program, comprising 12 female founders from across India and Southeast Asia. It focuses on sectors and industries like climate tech, healthtech, SaaS, B2B, web3, consumer internet and D2C.
