Bengaluru-based gaming startup MetaShot has raised $400K in a pre-seed round led by Inflection Point Ventures. The round also saw participation from an early-stage gaming focussed fund and prominent angels including founders of Dineout - Ankit Mehrotra, Sahil Jain and Khalid Qazi, among others.
The funds will be used to expand the team, invest toward growth and marketing, and for R&D efforts, MetaShot said in a press release.
Founded by Prince Thomas, Ranjit Behera, and Ajith Sunny, MetaShot platform offers users an immersive cricket experience from the comfort of their living rooms. The platform allows users to play with their friends or strangers from around the world, making the game social.
Currently, MetaShot is operating in the Bengaluru market and plans to expand its operations to other cities in the second quarter of the current financial year, with further aspirations to venture into other cricket-playing nations soon.
On Thursday, gaming giant Krafton also announced its commitment to invest $150 million in Indian gaming and tech startups for the next two to three years.
