Therapeutic behavioural health platform Sukoon Healthcare has secured investment of $15 million led by Lightrock India. The fund has acquired a significant stake in the Gurugram-based healthcare startup.

Sukoon says this investment is to date the largest in the Indian mental health space and is the seed transaction towards the creation of India’s largest therapeutic behavioural health platform.

Post this transaction, Saleem Asaria, a partner at Lightrock India, will assume the role of Executive Chairman and Vidit & Kanishk will assume senior leadership roles. Saleem has previously founded and built Europe’s leading behavioural health services company.

Founded in 2020 by Vidit Bahiri and Kanishk Gupta, Sukoon uses a multi-disciplinary team of experienced psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, counsellors, and vocational therapists to ensure that each patient receives personalised and holistic care.

Sukoon claims to have treated over 11,000 patients in the last one-year suffering from a spectrum of conditions across inpatient and outpatient services. It competes with the likes of Sprint Medical, Credihealth, Lybrate, among others.

Lightrock India had recently led $33 million Series B round in diabetes care platform BeatO. The fund’s portfolio included Medybuddy, Shiprocket, Scaler, Axio, Cuemath, PharmEasy, CredAvenue, DeHaat, and Porter among others.
