Burmese vegan restaurant chain Burma Burma raises $2 Mn in seed round

Burmese vegan restaurant chain Burma Burma and Tea Room has secured $2 million in a seed round led by Negen Capital along with round participation of Bbigplas Poly Private Ltd besides other angels.

The proceeds will be utilised to scale further with growth capital, Burma Burma said in a press release.

Founded by Ankit Gupta and Chirag Chhajer, Burma Burma Restaurant and Tea Room makes Burmese cuisine accessible to all and the brand is now fulfilling its vision of going beyond just a restaurant and providing its patrons with a new, wholesome and dining experience that interacts on various levels.

Founded in 2014, the Mumbai-based company claims to spread quickly to the other five metros, Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Bengaluru and Kolkata and is looking at expanding its presence in the country. It also plans to open 8 new outlets within the next 15 months taking the total count to 14 outlets. With more than 450 members, its next target is to take Burma Burma beyond India.
