Live quizzes and interactive gamified platform Supernova has raised $1.1 million in a pre-seed round led by Lumikai and interactive media VC. The round also witnessed participation of Kae Capital, All In Capital, Goodwater Capital and several other angels.
The proceeds will be deployed towards product development, strengthening the leadership team and hacking growth among others, Supernova said in a press release.
Founded in 2021 by Anirudh, Nawin and Maharishi, Supernova targets kids aged 4-12 for fun and engaging live quizzes and offers byte sized lessons and worksheets on school curriculums (mainly CBSE). The company aims to disrupt the ed-tech ecosystem by using pedagogies centred around interactivity and experiential learning.
Supernova claims to enhance maths skill in 30-minute sessions and harness the opportunity of generational shift towards user-centricity. At present, the company focuses on Mathematics, however, it’s also testing other subjects such as science and space.
Lumikai, a venture capital firm focused on gaming and interactive media, has invested in several startups in 2022. The list includes Loco's $42 million Series A round, CloudFeather Games' seed round and Eloelo's $13 million Series A round. Its portfolio startups include Bombay Play, Studio Sirah, Crater Club among others.
