Construction tech startup Project Hero has raised $3.2 million in seed round led by Ankur Capital and Omidyar Network India. The round also saw participation from existing investors including Titan Capital.

The firm will use the funds to strengthen its technology infrastructure, hire more talent and expand its supply side as well as expansion, the company said in a press release.

Led by Satya Vyas, Project Hero enables contractors to hire and manage construction workers across bar bending, carpentry,  shuttering, masons, general helpers and painting. By weeding out middlemen, the platform claims to deliver benefits to both sides (workers and contractors) of the marketplace.

Currently, Project Hero claims to have 400K workers on the platform and placed over 3,000 workers on projects across various states. In July last year, the startup had raised $450K from Titan Capital, Anupam Mittal and Varun Alagh.

Of late, construction focused tech companies have been gaining investors interest and seed and Series A financing rounds. Bengaluru-based Powerplay recently raked in a $7 million Series A1 round led by Accel India. In July, construction management platform QwikSpec raised Rs 3.5 crore.
