Bengaluru-based wealthtech platform Liquide has secured $2.2 million in a pre-seed funding round from Singapore-based M Venture Partners and a few angel investors, including Cred founder Kunal Shah and OfBusiness co-founder Ashish Mohapatra.
Other investors such as Shashvat Nakrani, Suhail Sameer, Ruchi Kalra, Chaitnya Peddi, Jayant Paleti, Rohit Chennamaneni, Pradeep Parameswaran, Shantanu Deshpande, Rahul Chaudhary, Sidharth Gupta, Kunal Suri, Siddharth Jayanti, Amitabh Mall, Sandeep Singh, Rajeev Kumar, and Sakshi Sinha also participated in the round.
Founded in 2021 by Anuj Bajpai, Paritosh Gunjan, Aniket Shirke, and Kunal Ambasta, Liquide provides an on-demand investment advisory platform. It enables users to safely log in with their existing broker accounts and access ready-made actionable insights on the portfolio, stocks, and market trends.
These insights include automated buy or sell alerts and smart nudges enabled by supervised machine learning algorithms. In addition, users can avail personalised wealth consultation, by connecting with SEBI registered investment advisors through a hotline to discuss money management issues and plan their investment roadmap.
The company is set to go live this month for NRI investors across six countries - Singapore, Canada, Australia, the US, the UK, and UAE.
Liquide says its mobile app, which is available on both Android and iOS, has been downloaded more than 35,000 times.
Liquide currently has six brokers and aims to grow its network in the next few months to cover almost 90% of Demat account holders in India.
The startup plans to deploy the fresh funds towards building a plug-and-play stock advisory layer to power existing brokerage accounts such as Zerodha, Upstox and Groww. It also plans to invest in improving equity research and analytics capabilities, and accelerating product development and testing.
